  • There are also trips being developed in India and China that we can discuss at our meeting.

  • These are the sites we have mapped out so far, however we are totally open for discussing other options at our next meeting or through email. We composed this list just as a helpful aid because there are a very large number of organizations that have good intentions but do not practice sustainable aid. We will work with you on whatever you chose though, no pressure. If you guys can have a pretty good idea of where you would like to go by our meeting on December 3rd that would be great!!:) Thanks so much!

October 22nd Meeting/Siciliano Forum!! :)

Hey all!!
Hope everyone had a good fall break!:) Our next meeting is tomorrow (sorry for the late blog!;) at 4:00 PM at the Honors Center! Dr. Ben Crookston is coming to speak to us about his work in Ghana. There will be treats of course and it will be fun!:)

Today I will be sending out an email about an event on October 27th, put on by the Department of Family and Preventative Medicine here at the University, to introduce many of the study abroad programs in global health. This would be a GREAT event for us to attend because each of the opportunities presented are potential sites for you all to pick for you 2010 summer trip!!:) (Which will need to be decided before second semester! Hopefully!:) So check your email for details about that! Also, I have heard from many of your availability the afternoon of the 29th for the Siciliano Forum Panel Luncheon (thank you thank you for replying :), but I'm still waiting on a few of you! If you could let me know ASAP that would be great! After Dr. Crookston speaks to us this week we will have time to chat about this months reading, as well as our service projects. I haven't heard back from anyone about any of that either so we will have plenty to chat about!:) See you all tomorrow!! :) Thanks!!

University of Utah Global Health Scholars Blog

Hello everyone!

The University of Utah Global Health Scholars blog is up! Hopefully this can be a resource that members of the "GHS" can view to coordinate events and efforts in the program. In addition to posting recaps of meetings, people can feel free to post questions for discussion on global issues, insights from the readings, and ideas for service or activities we can do as a group. I really look forward to a fulfilling experience from the program and to working with all you people this year!
